One year ago we started requesting prayers for a fallen brother. Today I share the update written by his Girlfriend Kathy;
 It was on this date, a year ago, that Gregg was in his accident. He and I talked about that today....where he was and how far he has come.  He continues to work 'forward' and that is what is important. He verbalizes more frequently now, laughs easier and has questions of his own. He can step out with his left foot when being assisted to walk but still doesn't do it regularly and doesn't have a lot of strength in his right leg yet. He still so frequently shows his stubborn side that it gets frustrating to all of us.....but that is 'him'.....so we know he is still Greg :).  Last week he stood up out of the w/chair, sat on his bed and swung his left leg up on the bed.  His nursing aide was with him - never touched him to assist.  She was so excited she ran up the halls, telling all the nurses. Last night I asked him to do the same and he just responded by shaking his head 'no'....and true to his word...he didn't, lol. I really, really wasn't surprised.  The good thing is that when he has done something on the spur of the moment like that, sooner or later it becomes a new repeated skill.
 
There are no other amazing things to tell you about right now.  Spring is here, Gregg's allergies have kicked in big time and a dosage increase in one of his regular meds has left him quite fatigued so he's been napping a lot.  He gets a week off for that,  then back to work. There was still awsome things happening for him on the inside that will come to fruition. 
 
THANK YOU to all of you who have visited Gregg, sent good thoughts, kept him in your prayers, sent cards or called.  It is truly appreciated and will be remembered - always.  The months to come will be no easier for him, but he works on knowing you are all out there, cheering him on.
 
Thanks again for the love and support of a brother who has not finished writtin' his story.
