I remember Sunday being a family day, not another work day.
I remember when you made plans and followed up on them, and didn't need a cell phone holding you hostage to have a relationship or cunduct business.
I remember being able to afford to go as a family to a ballgame at Fenway.
I remember the day I realized my teachers in school had a liberal agenda that they were putting ahead of teaching us - it was 1985, I was in 5th grade.
I remember when people said hello to each other if they passed on the street or in a hall - not for any other reason than you were supposed to be friendly to people.
I remember riding my bicycle anywhere I wanted as a kid. No helmet, no problem as long as I was home for dinner, and now wondering if kids anywhere have that feeling of freedom again. On a bike or in any facet of their lives.
I remember when kids spoke proper English and had manners.
I remember when parents could raise their own children.
I remember lots of good things that see to have gone by the wayside, and I'm only 34...WAIT, I live in the PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC of MASSACHUSETTS - it's probably better in 47 other states!!!

Mt Dew and Coke in glass bottles.
Milk from the city dairy came in glass bottles and arranged in a little metal carrier.
cars were COMPLETELY made of steel.
a 1969 Chevelle SS could be purchased for under $10,000, off the showroom floor, and that's with the optional 350hp Rochester carb and 4 speed!
you could leave your bicycle outside in your yard for 3 days, and it'd still be there on day #4.
when members of our government didn't EVER lie? wait... that NEVER happened!

You reset the gas pump by cranking the handle on the side of the pump. 10 oz. bottles of coke were a nickel and 12 oz bottles were 10 cents. Penny candy was 2 for a penny. You went to the store to get something for your mother and they just put it on her grocery bill. Playing with toy pistols and cap guns was perfectly normal. $100 dollars of groceries was enough to feed a family of 6 for a month ... but hey ... I'm still a kid

When buying a pack of Lucky Stikes in a cigarette machine and you got 2 cents back inside the pack from the machine which at the time cost you 20 cents. At a bar you could buy a glass of beer on tap for a dime or a mug for 25 cents and the glass was frozen either way. Still had the original soda fountain shops with the jukeboxes 3 songs for a quarter, one for 10 cents, pinball machines you could play all day if you were good enough to win free games and keep on playing, the milk shakes were so big most times you couldn't finish them and only cost a quarter back then , not to mention, malts or real soda like,Cream or Birch beer, and penny candies, and nickel chocalate candy bars. The topper back then was you could fill up a tank of gas on your bike with the best gas for somewhere around 65 cents if my memory serves me correct, no clue though gettin old and that part doesn't function so well any more LMAO. Yep, maybe gettin old but those were the real good ol days and I sure do miss them days....
