On our 25th anniversary ride, Trish and I rode out west a good bit.  The best ride, by far, was Red Mountain Pass, a 105-mile stretch of road between Montrose and Durango, CO.  This road takes you up to over 12,000 feet, and has some awesome views.  I also feel bad for the poor folks that are in cars, because they don't get to smell the aspen trees as they ride through!  We were told that alot of car commercials are filmed along this road due to all the switchbacks - it was a RUSH!

Stoplights timed for 35 mph are also timed for 70!

I've driven that route, but not on a bike, many years ago.  Wonderful country.

Hey Konkster,  This one is on my "next time at west" list.  It looks like the place I've been looking for.  Ride Safe,  Monster
