Any suggestions for removing a rubber shoe sole from my exhaust pipe woould be appreciated.

brake cleaner works pretty good on a car exhaust so it should work on a bike,just have lots o rags and a couple cans of brake clean

There's some stuff I use called...GOO GONE. It's for removing glue and such. Works great. Only about $2. IF you can find it there. Pictured below...it's a very small bottle.
MAKE SURE Pipes are COOL, and rub some on, let it sit a few minutes...
dry paper towel WIPES RIGHT OFF. THEN use brake cleaner to get off the residue. It's an oil base. FIRST time I did it, GOD AWEFUL fumes, I almost passed out...te he
so rince off residue

I scrape it off with a razorblade. Sounds like it would scratch, but it doesn't. Lay the blade flat and shave off the rubber. My rainsuit melted on my pipes 2 years ago, shaved it off, thenused NEVERDULL, couldn't even tell it had been touched.

Dry ice, but if you leave it too long it may mar the chrome

Triple O (000) or 4 O (0000) steel wool.  This stuff takes it right off and is softer then the chrome. Its also good for surface rust.
