Wisdom from the COB
Posted On 12/14/07 @ 3:14:PM

Living in New England is very much like only having a life for eight months a year. Once the snow and ice start your riding options are limited and you can't work in the garden or walk your dogs without freezing your butt off. When I was younger sledding and skating were an option, but now that my bones are old and brittle I am not looking forward to that possible broken hip.

Thank God I can surf the Internet and stay inside until the weather breaks. Not that Cape Cod gets a lot of snow, its just that the Damn Fools out here forget how to drive with the first snowflake. It's worth your life to leave your driveway. By the way COB stands for Cranky Old Bastard.

December 22, 2007

Weather Broke today after a week of Snow, Rain, Slush and heavily salted roads. 48 degrees and sunshine. Hopped on the Blackhawk and put 125 miles on the ticker. Sandy and greasy in places but no problems with traffic or possums.

Tomorrow expected to be better than today except could rain later in the afternoon. Looks like a good day to run down to Provincetown and back.

No ride today! Had to put new rotors and calipers on my diesel. Also light rain on and off all day. Managed the job without too much bloodshed small cut on bridge of nose where wrench slipped and bump on forehead from bending over caliper.

Went to Woods Hole today. 40-45 degrees sunshine. Best time of year to ride on the Cape as the traffic is light. Put 80 miles on running through Osterville and Falmouth. Lunch at Pub. Chilling down tonight and might snow.

January 01, 2008

Took a ride to keep the battery up.  43 degrees and looking like a storm on the way. Stopped to help pick up a Honda tourer that dropped due to not removing disk lock before leaving.  Arrived home at 11:30 am. Just started to snizzle.
