Real Bike
Posted On 02/11/08 @12:27:AM

Recently I received an IM from some one I didn't know and it simply said, "Why don't you get a real bike?"  Wow!  At first I was angered and thought this required an immediate reply, but good since prevailed and I did not.  Perhaps I left a comment on this persons page or image that they didn't appreciate and they were getting even with me, or maybe it was just good natured razzing.  It's hard to tell these things on the internet.  At any rate it was an IM so no one but me could have been offended and yet it got me to wondering.

What is a "real bike"?  Hmmm, that Victory Vision is cool, maybe it's a real bike.  Oh, and that Yamaha Raider is awesome, maybe it's a real bike.  My friends have all brands of bikes, Harley's, Honda's, Yamaha's, Suzuki's, Kawasaki's, and one even has a scooter, maybe I should ask them what a "real bike" is.  Do you think one of them could tell me?  I doubt it, or perhaps they would suggest the one they are riding is the "real bike".  Yeah, that's it.  The one you're riding is the "real bike".

The first thing any of us do when we get a motorcycle is customize and personalize to make it our "real bike".  So, friend, who ever you are, I'm riding a "real bike" and I'll bet you are too.  Have a good day.

Linux for the Masses
Posted On 01/02/08 @ 4:22:PM

As stated on my page, I'm an avid Linux user and as such want to have everyone I know at least give it a try.  To that end I have posted a link with a little test to help you determine which would be the best Linux operating system for you.  Nearly all have a live CD version so it is not necessary to install it to your hard drive until you feel comfortable and to date I have used none that would not dual boot with Windoze.  Any way, take the test and give one a try.

Where am I

By now everyone knows I ride a Kawasai Voyager XII. I go to this forum or that. This biker site and that, and when you get to the part where you check off the bike you ride I always have to check "other". Why is that" You got your Harley, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, shoot sometimes, even BMW, but the KAW is missing.

I just wonder why? There's a crap load of 'em out there. Vulcans, V2K's, Voyagers, NOMADs, and everything in between.

I'm just saying!

All in Fun
Posted On 12/16/07 @11:28:PM

You know as I go from social site to social site (invited by various family and friends), and from forum to forum I've noticed that people sometimes get upset or are easily offended by what someone says.  Sometimes I've even offended others and for that I'm sorry, but hey this is the internet.  Get over it.  I often think I'm being cute or funny and I'm just having fun and sometimes I may go over board once in a while and say something stupid.  Again, I'm sorry.  If you really knew me and could see how I'm ROTFLMAO you'd probably not take offense. So sit back have another beer and go with the flow.  You can always turn me off, or delete my comments.  It's ok, I'll p - - - you off again another day, you won't hurt my feelings.
